Role: Technical Designer/AV Operator
For Animal Farm, my second and final production with The Glasgow Academy Drama Club, I was responsible for designing and coordinating nearly all of the show’s technical elements (with the exception of Act 2 lighting). This included developing and operating the lighting, sound, and projection design, as well as assisting with elements of props and set to support the overall staging.
The production process ran from September through to performance, giving me the opportunity to work closely with the cast and creative team as ideas developed from early rehearsals into a fully realised show. I contributed to shaping the visual and technical style of the production, from planning lighting states and sound cues to integrating projection content that supported the storytelling.
It was a fantastic experience both creatively and technically, culminating in a production we were all incredibly proud of. Throughout the process, I also learned a great deal from working alongside our technical and show director, Mrs Wishart, gaining further insight into the practical and creative side of theatre production.
